Interoute, owner operator of Europe's largest cloud services platform, has been selected to supply IaaS (Infrastructure as a service) to the UK government via its G-Cloud programme. Interoute’s Virtual Data Centre (VDC) service will be available in the Government’s online CloudStore. The G-Cloud provides a platform of pre-approved suppliers for the UK public sector, ensuring transparent costs and rigorous security standards are met.
Interoute’s VDC will provide a new class of cloud computing to the UK public sector, offering on-demand computing, storage and applications at the touch of a button. Interoute’s VDC is easily scalable and organisations will be able to roll out new applications in minutes. Not only this but organisations will benefit from its pay-as-you-go structure and because Interoute owns the network, it’s as cost effective as a public cloud but with the added security of a private cloud.
Matthew Finnie, Interoute’s CTO said: “We are delighted that Interoute’s VDC has been included in the Government CloudStore. By hosting the best IT services providers on one platform, the Government is encouraging collaboration and innovation. Public sector organisations can pick and mix best of breed ICT service providers, at the price and service level that suits their needs”.
Interoute’s Virtual Data Centre provides flexible, cost efficient and secure storage available on demand, online and with the benefit of a free trial period, government organisations can test the service to ensure its right for them.
As the owner operator of Europe’s largest next generation network, Interoute has an exceptional track record for providing IT services to leading global enterprises. Interoute has been operating its own Cloud Store since last year, so will hit the ground running in the Government CloudStore, bringing with it the benefits already enjoyed by enterprises across Europe.
